The course costs €504: a 60-minute intake lesson followed by 6 tailored lessons of 60 minutes. Lessons are available in English across Haarlem, Heemstede and Hoofddorp in manual or automatic cars.

Holding a non-EU foreign driving licence?
Refresher courses are strictly for drivers whose licence is legally valid in the Netherlands. If your foreign licence cannot be exchanged via the RDW (e.g. from India, Nepal or the US without the 30% tax ruling), Dutch law permits driving for only 185 days after municipal registration. To continue driving legally, you must pass the CBR exams via our full driver training.

It is for drivers who hold a valid Dutch, EU or legally exchangeable driving licence and want to rebuild confidence, conquer motorway anxiety or master complex Dutch roundabouts.
What is the fee and structure for a refresher course?+
The refresher course costs €504 in total: a 60-minute intake lesson plus 6 lessons of 60 minutes, in a manual or automatic car.
I have a foreign licence from outside the EU. Can I book a refresher course?+
Only if your licence is legally exchangeable via the RDW (for example, with the 30% expat ruling). If your licence cannot be exchanged (e.g. India or Nepal without the 30% ruling), you must take the official CBR theory and practical examinations to drive legally in the Netherlands after 185 days. In that case, you should book a trial lesson for our full CBR licence programme.
Can I take the refresher in an automatic or manual car?+
Yes. Rijcoach offers refresher lessons in both modern automatic and manual dual-control cars.
Do I have to take another CBR exam?+
No. If you hold a valid licence, there is no CBR exam required. The coaching focuses purely on your personal comfort, lane positioning and road safety.
